Alzheimer’s disease is a neurological disorder that slowly but surely destroys brain tissue, in the process erasing memories. In the ways that people with this devastating disease strive to connect, and how those who care for them reach out, there are many lessons about what it means to be human. This report features Boulder Community Hospital Volunteer Services, Frasier Meadows Assisted Living, biofeedback expert Pat Norris, the Ozawkie Book of the Dead, and my husband’s mom and dad.
